Welcome to Kayak-Kayak of Holland, Michigan

Thanks everyone! Kayak-Kayak had a great summer.

We have been blessed with great weather this summer in West Michigan. Okay, it took until July to warm up, but it continued well into September and now the leaves are beginning to turn into terrific hues of vibrant colors, so we have some terrific paddling in front of us.

Sales of boats, accessories, rentals and our paddling trip were all beyond reasonable expectations. Best of all our kayaking community grew dramatically. For these things we are very grateful. Of course, we continue to be very pleased with our vendors and we believe that they are as critical to our effort as any and we are fortunate that in addition to some great products, we deal with great people at our suppliers, both old and new.

Our kayak lines have set substantial sales gains, particularly in the Prijon line for the Touryak, Cruiser and Capri models. Among the Emotion boats, the Glide, Mojo, all the  anglers and the Advant-edge have all had a terrific customer response.  Seven-2 hit a home run with their Radium paddle, an outstanding premium paddle. Come on in and check out these great products.

A look into 2009

In terms of products, you will see a few lines that are new and are additions to our basic line up of goods. We work hard to find what we consider to be excellent value and unique offerings where possible. Many of our new product ideas come from customers, so let us know of your interesting finds.

Next year will see new services and touring offerings. Check out our tour and trip page. We know that after friends buy new kayaks and products they want to use them and it is fun for us to help provide some interesting options.

Our policy of delivering boats where possible will continue. Pricing will be an issue as with most consumer products next year,  the prices of boats and most goods will be rising. This is exactly why we work hard to find excellent values and terrific price/ performance ratios in our goods.

We just completed a 2009 planning session to receive outside feedback. We all know that unfortunately 2009 is likely to be a difficult economic year. Kayak-kayak is committed to providing excellent value and great service. We have designed some cost effective paddling trips to explore the local rivers. We are structuring special group and family rates for rentals. Give us a call or send us an email and let us know how we can help you have a great time on the water.

We have set our 2009 to carefully manage overhead costs and offer the best values to customers. We know that 2009 may be hard on customers, but it will also be hard on our competitors and suppliers. We expect our market to continue to increase and our relationships with suppliers to get even stronger.

Remainder of 2008

Well, the paddling is not done for the year. Fall colors have emerged and we have a couple of good weeks in front of us. I was driving down from Drummond Island on October 1 and got just a visual hint of the glorious falls colors we will be looking at down here. We still rent boats for fall paddling out of the Holland store give me a call or email, but make a reservation ahead.

Hours have be reduced and the store is open from noon to 6 PM from Wednesday through Friday, though I am often here other hours as well. Saturdays have not changed and we are here from 10 AM to 6PM.

Fall and Holiday Specials
We have an absolutely terrific, red daybag that has a reflective strip on the front with Kayak-Kayak printed across it. This convenient bag is handy for your gearand to take along on your paddle. The red color provides a safety function as a good emergency flag complemented by the reflective band across the front. The bag is priced at $7.50, but we have a red bag special in which it is priced at $5.00 per bag. Plus everything that is put inside the bag has a 10% discount. So come on in to purchase some great gifts or just add to your gear with a fall discount program.

Finally, we sell gift certificates that have no expiration, so they can be redeemed next year by your paddler.
These certificates can also be used for the rental fleet and applied on our tours and trips.
